FFWD Week #21: Pancetta(Bacon) Green Beans

I just made these. In fact, I am still eating them. They are delicious. I am too cheap to go and buy pancetta when I already have bacon in the fridge, so I made this recipe with bacon. I did blanche the bacon for a few minutes to get rid of the smokiness, but I think next time I won't even bother! Mmmmm... bacon and beans!
I made some cookies for Valentines day a while ago... back, you know, when Valentine's day wasn't over!

This little guy was my favourite =)

FFWD Week # 20: Orange-Almond Tart

I was super excited to use my new tart pan for this week's recipe! I made half of the recipe and made half a tart. I didn't quite make the barrier of crust high enough so there was some unfortunate seepage and burning - but in the end it worked fine. The tart before baking: And after: I let my orange slices dry overnight, which I think was a good call. I tried a slice on the day I made the tart, but found the oranges a little bitter. The next day I tried it again and had no problem with the oranges. Hmmm... maybe my taste buds were off! I guess I'll see how it is on the third day tomorrow! I think I over baked it a a little, but all in all I am very happy with how it turned out! By the way... this is the 20th recipe from Around My French Table, and seeing as I only have skipped one recipe thus far, I've made 19 recipes from this book. That's amazing. I don't think I have made that many recipes out of any of my cookbooks!

FFWD #19: Basque Potato Tortilla

This week's recipe serves four and so I did some minor math and made one serving in my little orange pan. I added some shredded cheddar cheese just because I could. I didn't have any problems with stickage, so that was a relief. This was good - not something I will probably make again - but good.
