FFWD Week #47: Cafe Salle Pleyel Hamburger
This was a delicious, delicous hamburger, but I had trouble taking a good photo of it. I also made quite a mess eating this hamburger, but it was SO good! I must admit, this is the first time EVER that I have made hamburgers! I've eaten plenty of homemade burgers, but they have always been made by lovely and talented friends and family. I think this was a good start to my hamburger making career =)
The Red onion marmalade was really good, and the sundried tomatoes in the burger worked very well, as did the parmasean. I skipped the capers and cornichons. This recipe is definitely one of my favourites that we've made so far!
By the way... the photo above is an Arbutus tree, I love them!

I like your photo! Looks quite summery. I'm not a huge capers fan, but put them in anyway and was pleasantly surprise how much I like these burgers.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a successful first time burger run!
ReplyDeleteThese werea bit messy, but oh so good...
I had no luck photographing my burger either. Your pic looks much better than mine! Congrats on your first burger-making adventure. Looks good.
ReplyDeleteI hate taking photos of hamburgers. You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, the red onion marmalade was really good and a good spread for bread. The burgers taste better with the sun dried tomatoes in them :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're welcoming burger to your home cooking menu!
ReplyDeleteYour photo depicts the perfect summer burger! Great job.
ReplyDeleteoh the capers were pretty decent in them! its not something I would normally cook with but it was pretty darn good this time around!
ReplyDeleteI wished I had skipped the capers. Trusting my gut the next time. Your photo turned out great: the burger is peeking out at you - drawing you in. :-)
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be making these again. Great job, Monica!
ReplyDeleteYour photo worked fine. Best wishes on your new hamburger making career!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure about the cornichons when I read the recipe, but ended up being pleased with the result (though I skipped the sun dried tomatoes this time). I wish I'd thought to have corn on the cob as a side!
ReplyDeleteI loved this, too, and that onion jam was the best...I have made that again and confess to sampling that way too much while I was cooking it! Shhhh...don't tell anyone. I think your photo looks great!
