These Madeleines called out to me a few months ago, and after trying them I was determined to make them again this fall, when there flavours would be perfect. I was so glad to see these on the schedule! I made the mistake of quickly glancing through the ingredients, quickly deciding I had them all and then not looking at the recipe again until I was ready to bake. As a result, I skipped the orange zest :( and added a few squirts of lemon juice instead.
I don't own a Madeleine pan, but a dear friend of mine does. Thanks friend!
I am so excited that fall is here! I can not wait to start baking with pumpkin again!
Love the fun polka dotted backround!
ReplyDeleteThe dusting of powdered sugar makes them picture perfect :-)
Oh me neither, I have a few pumpkin recipes that are new and beckoning! ... I simply cannot wait! Glad you were able to find a pan to make these delicious morsels of cake in!
ReplyDeleteCute photo.. did the juice work? I had to borrow an orange for mine as the one I thought I had was appropriated for a cocktail just before I started in the kitchen. Bad spouse.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you were able to borrow a pan for this week's recipe. Your photo is great.
ReplyDeleteYours look wonderful. I agree with Cher - cute polka dots!
ReplyDeleteSis. Boom.: I can't notice the lemon juice in the baked cookies, but I think it orange would have really added something!
ReplyDeleteAh, lucky you - none of my friends have madeleine pans lying around. They would probably expect me to have one on hand! Your madeleines look great, Monica.
ReplyDeleteThey look delicious. I didn't have an orange either, but I did use the zest of a lemon. It wasn't very noticable though. I bought my first winter squash this weekend. The season's are a-changing.
