FFWD #31: Torteua de Chevre
This cake is currently sitting on my kitchen counter, looking very intreguing indeed. It was very easy to put together and I whipped it up last night, with tart dough that was resting in the fridge. It is unlike anything I've ever had. Dry, but moist too and with a simple, not very sweet flavour, with goat cheese after tastes.
I tried a small slice of it today plain, but would like to try it with fresh fruit and honey. Update: tried it with a drizzle of honey and fresh strawberries, and enjoyed it immensely! I made half of the recipe in my lovely 6-inch springform pan - it's getting quite a workout with French Fridays With Dorie - with the regular tart dough.

Looks wonderful. Tricia and I worked on one cake for two
ReplyDeletefamilies so as not to have too much around. We enjoyed it
very much. It is good with wine or as a dessert with fruit or
ice cream.
Your tourteau looks lovely! I really enjoyed the delicate flavor and paired it with honey and fresh fruit.
ReplyDeleteI made a smaller tourteau too, in case I didn't like the taste... But now I wished I made a bigger one as it's so delicious! Btw, I like the colorful and tranquil photos of your surroundings :-).
ReplyDeleteWell it looks like it didn't sit on the counter very long. I finally got to it. Better late than never as I just found it fantastic and also drizzled honey and strawberries over it. I will be making this again and again. Maybe even today.
ReplyDeleteI served mine with honey and strawberries too - it was a fabulous combination!
